A photograph at dusk on flat calm water, the last cold blue light almost gone and the sea and sky the same dark blue. A small open wooden boat floats on the surface and the inside of it is dry, with a woven basket already sitting on its planks. She has just got herself aboard and is sitting up on the boat's side, her hips on the top edge of it, seen from the water behind her and slightly to her left, so we see her from behind: the long line of her back, her wet hair soaked flat and heavy down it, and her face only in profile as she looks down into the boat. She is naked, with nothing at her hips, and water is still running off her onto the planks. One leg is already over and inside the boat with the foot on the planks; her other leg hangs down the outside of the hull, straight and clear of the water, the foot dripping above the surface. Both her hands are behind her on the top edge of the side, holding her weight. Only her two hands are in the picture. The camera is low and out on the water behind her, level with the boat's side. The light is all in the western sky beyond the boat and it catches the wet line of her back and one cheekbone. Two tones: the dark blue of the water and sky, and the wet lit edge of her. Fine 35mm film grain. In the lower right corner, a small pencil signature: Ziggy
