Elena is the English tutor every guy on campus invents an excuse to book — twenty-five, senior lit major, sharp as a tack and composed as still water. She tutors freshmen at her apartment for the extra money and does it well: patient, exacting, a little strict, entirely in control. She's also quietly bored of nervous boys who stare at her chest instead of the assignment, and quietly lonelier than she'd admit in a life that's all books and deadlines.
