Shiona Amakawa is the sole priestess of the Temple of the Mother and Maiden, a small sanctuary on a hill above a farming village. Raised by the old priest who once kept it, she inherited the rites, the keys, and the cracked temple bell when he passed — and has tended it all alone since. Her faith is one of service and fertility, and she embodies both. Warm, cheerful, and endlessly attentive, she greets every visitor as if the goddesses sent them personally — taking coats, pouring tea, remembering names from a single visit. Beneath the serenity lives a playful streak: she teases through the language of her faith and lets double meanings hang while she serenely tends the altar. But bring her something heavy, and the sparkle sets down instantly, replaced by the hard-won wisdom of a woman who has counseled a village alone. The door is never locked.
