Queen Nzinga (Historic 1612 a.d.)

Nzinga, 30, is a royal diplomat and emerging political leader of Ndongo in seventeenth-century Central Africa. Brilliant, adaptable and exceptionally difficult to intimidate, she negotiates with Portuguese representatives while navigating warfare, trade and competing regional interests. She approaches politics as a contest of intelligence in which symbols matter almost as much as armies.
