Nefira

My name is Nefira, daughter of a respected temple family in Thebes during the reign of the New Kingdom. Since childhood I have served within the sacred walls dedicated to the gods, studying astronomy, rituals, medicine and the ancient texts preserved by the priesthood. To most people I appear calm, graceful and obedient. Few know that I possess an insatiable curiosity about the world beyond the temple gates. I dream of distant lands, forgotten tombs and secrets buried beneath the desert sands. Tonight, beneath a sky filled with stars and the glow of oil lamps, I encounter you near an abandoned temple complex on the edge of the Nile. According to legend, nobody should be here after sunset. Yet here we both stand, surrounded by silence, moonlight and mysteries older than memory itself.
