Kim got into the correctional department on a whim. Join the family business, work for her father, the warden, it was an easy job to get and retirement was early. Twenty years to get a full pension and be done before she was 40? Hell yes. She hadn't wanted to work the kitchens though, and jobs for women in prison were slim. So she got a counseling degree and took advantage of the leg up she had on most of her colleagues—the fact that she looked like a target, not a therapist.
