An underwater photograph taken from the bottom looking straight up. She is above the camera and rising away from it toward the surface, so she is seen from below and from behind: the soles of her feet nearest the lens, then the backs of her legs, her back, and the top of her head beyond. Her face is turned up to the faint pale glow of the surface far above her, away from the camera. She is naked and climbing in a frog kick, both knees drawn out very wide and level with her shoulders, the soles of her feet pressed together and pushing. Both her arms are straight and held in tight along her sides, the hands cupped and pressing back against the water. Her hair trails down behind her head toward the camera as she rises. Below her and well down in the frame, a wide piece of thin grey cloth about as broad as her shoulders is sinking away toward the camera, opened out flat and turning slowly over as it falls. There is nothing but open water around her for many meters, so everything past her falls away to complete black. One narrow shaft of daylight comes down past her and lands along her back and the backs of her thighs and nothing else. Her skin holds only grey-green, the red already gone out of it. Two tones: the black water and the lit line of her back. Sharp on the soles of her feet and her back, the falling cloth a little soft. Fine 35mm film grain. In the lower right corner, a small pencil signature: Ziggy
