A luxury fragrance campaign photograph, black studio, one hard light and nothing else lit. Macro, very close: a heavy square glass perfume bottle with a black stopper stands on a sheet of black glass, filling the middle of the frame, and it is the sharpest thing in the picture. One word is cut into the front of the glass in clean capital letters: ZIGGY. Inside the bottle, refracted through the thick glass and the pale liquid, her face appears upside down and slightly broken by the edges of the glass - one eye, her cheekbone and her mouth readable, everything else bent and doubled. Her real face is beyond the bottle, close behind it and thrown completely out of focus, a soft dark shape leaning in toward the glass with her chin down; the two versions of her are in the same picture at once, one small and sharp and inverted, one large and unreadable. The black glass beneath the bottle throws its whole shape back as a second inverted bottle. Her hand rests flat on the black glass beside it, the long almond nails lacquered deep oxblood red, the only colour in the frame. One hard light from the left goes through the bottle and lights the liquid from inside so the glass edges burn white and everything past it is pure black. Camera at the height of the bottle, macro close, level. one hard raking source, extreme high contrast, shallow depth of field, sharp focus on her inverted face inside the glass. Fine 35mm film grain.
